On Saturday #180(#1) I was in the hospital recovering from the birth of my daughter Harper. This series now becomes a double feature as I record how we spent her Saturdays as well.
I woke up early, around 5 to feed the baby. When she went back to sleep I did too. When it was time to get up again we took a walk around the hallway then had breakfast. The doctor on call came in and told me I was doing great and he would probably discharge me early. My husband called and said they were coming to visit.
When he brought my son in and I was happy. Roo said "Mommy!" and ran to me. I melted. I gave him a few toys I picked up for him and he was happy to play quietly at my side. My husband was happy to hold Harper for a while.
Roo and I snuggled up in bed together and chit chatted, his Grandma came to visit and between her and my husband they managed to keep my daughter from me all afternoon. I smiled and said "I am ready for you to leave so I can see my baby again".
When they left Harper and I took a nap for 40 minutes then we woke up so she could eat and get changed. We took a walk and cuddled up together for a while. My husband came back after dropping Roo off with the sitter so we could eat dinner together and he could see Harper without the distraction of chasing a toddler or having to share her with anyone. It was a nice 2 hours for our family to be together. I hated that Roo was at the sitter but I knew it was important to have the time together with Harper.
Saturday #180(#1) was spent at the hospital, but we got to spent about 4 hours together as a family of 4 plus grandma. I look forward to the next Saturday when we are home and establishing a routine that includes our little daughter.
I hope you were able to spend time with the people you love this weekend.
