Come and Meet the Family and Friends of Mr Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit is such a wonderful character, instantly recognisable with his trademark blue coat with the shiny gold buttons. He has a likeable personality and a penchant for carrots! Brave and fearless (and more than a little mischievous), Peter regularly heads off on exciting adventures, and often gets himself into trouble with local farmer Mr McGregor. He’s a street-smart bunny with lots of friends, many of whom admire his curious nature and quick wit. Whilst Peter is undoubtedly the star of the show (and the many books)! It’s also essential we acknowledge the other colourful characters created by the talented Ms Potter. Without them the tales of Peter Rabbit would just not be the same. Let’s go and meet some of his beloved family members and adorable friends.

Jemima Puddle-Duck
Waddling about in her pretty blue bonnet and delicate shawl, Jemima Puddle-Duck is one the best loved ducks in the whole world! Jemima is a trusting duck who spends much of ger time trying to find a safe and secure place to store her precious eggs. Unfortunately, Mr Tod is always sniffing about, but naive Jemima thinks he’s just being a caring friend and trying to help. Watch those eggs Jemima!

Mr Tod
Boo, hiss – you can’t have a story without a wily villain! Luckily Peter and his friends have the vain and rather smooth Mr Tod as an adversary. The haughty fox likes to think he is an outstanding predator, super clever, and he really believes that he is a cut above the creatures around him. Unfortunately for Mr Tod, Peter and his pals are always one step ahead, and we know that his evil plans will never come to fruition. Bad luck Mr Tod!
Mrs Tiggy-Winkle
A true domestic goddess if ever there was one, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle is a loveable hedgehog who lives in a very small cottage.
She spends most of her day washing clothes, but doesn’t seem to mind doing the laundry for all her animal friends, in fact we think she positively enjoys making sure everyone looks clean, tidy and well-turned out!

rs Rabbit
An all-round good egg, Mrs Rabbit is caring, sharing and an amazing mother to her children - Peter, twin girls Flopsy, Mopsy and youngest daughter Cotton Tail. As her only son, Peter is the apple of her eye and despite his cheeky antics Mrs Rabbit always looks out for him and provides endless love and attention. She is also strong and practical, making sure her children are well fed and well taken care of.

Flopsy and Mopsy
Twin sisters of Peter Rabbit, these dutiful girls love all things pretty and are old beyond their years. At only eight years old they have spotted that their little brother is a little bit wayward on occasion, and they often try to stop him from getting into scrapes (they rarely do, but bless them for having a go)! The girls aren’t fans of chaos and disorder – so Peter obviously presents a huge challenge, as he often causes both!

Cotton Tail
Cute little Cotton Tail looks up to big brother Peter and wants to be just like him! She is only very young but that doesn’t stop her trying to tag along, and the hapless baby bunny often becomes embroiled in Peter’s adventures.

Benjamin Bunny
Benjamin Bunny is the son of Mr Bouncer and the cousin of Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton Tail. With his brown jacket and clogs Benjamin is a recognisable character and he often accompanies Peter on daring adventures. Loyal and good-natured, Benjamin also tends to be greedy (maybe that’s why he spends so much time raiding Mr McGregor’s vegetable patch)! He is brave in the face of danger and will stand shoulder to shoulder with Peter whenever necessary.
