As the mother of a newborn I know exactly how precious sleep is. When I found out I got to give the Pampers gift of sleep to another mother, the wheels in my head started turning. I imagined what I would like to receive and hit the mall with a plan of attack.
My dear friend Melissa has a newborn baby girl and a husband that works very long hours to support their growing family. Melissa looks exhausted all the time. I know she is up and down all night long to care for her daughter and naps are a fantasy for her as she also has a 4 year old and a 2 year old.
The first thing I did was call her husband and ask for the number of their sitter. I contacted the sitter with a request of several hours of her time so that Melissa could sleep! Then I dashed into JC Penney with my plan. Comfortable pajamas for both Mommy and baby were in order for this plan to work.
I found a great set of lavender pajamas for Melissa and a silky eye mask so that she could rest in comfort and style. I picked up a package of sleep and plays for her daughter so that baby could nap as comfortably as Melissa.
When I arrived at her house with her sitter in tow Melissa asked "What are you two doing here?" I said "I am giving you a gift, the Pampers Gift of Sleep. Janie is going to stay for 5 hours and watch the kids while you nap lady."
Melissa sighed and tears formed in her eyes. She pulled me in for a hug and said "Thank you so much! I have needed a nap but we can't afford the sitter so that I can sleep. This means so much to me Sara."
I patted her on the back, handed her her pajamas and eye mask and gave her a gentle shove "Go rest dear! No worries, Janie is here until 6 p.m. She will wake you about 15 minutes before she has to go."
Pampers truly gives the gift of sleep. By interviewing over 9,000 moms about what was important for their baby, Pampers found the number one unmet need is a diaper that provides superior overnight dryness. Pampers incorporated this firsthand insight, as well as the brand’s deep understanding of baby and baby’s needs, to design a diaper that both mom and baby can count on for up to 12 hours of overnight protection.
I got to give the gift of sleep to a friend and I am happy to report 5 hours of rest brightened her spirits considerably. When I saw Melissa the next day she looked happier than I have seen her in months. I am also happy to report that I have the opportunity to give one of my readers the gift of sleep. This is an awesome prize pack that includes: a Sleep Sheep Sound Machine, cozy blankets for Mom/Baby and a $50 gift card. This giveaway will end on 10/27/13.

I think I could use sleep after this week my oldest daughter had to quickly have her tonsils and adenoids taken out then the day after that I got food poisoning and on top of all that I have a 6 yr old and 2yr old at home, a husband that works nights and parent teacher conferences and my youngest 3rd birthday, this week has been hard I will never take my health for granted!

ReplyDeleteI tried to go to the page to leave a comment for a weary mom but it said it doesn't exist. So I hope it's ok to leave it here. I say to sleep when Rolf and the baby are napping. If you have family close ask them if they can take the little ones while you sleep for a few hours.
