DIY Pallet Halloween Tree

I have developed a serious affection for pallet projects. I love how many ways you can re-purpose them! I came up with this easy DIY Pallet Halloween Tree using materials I had a home.

This is such an easy last minute DIY project to add a little creepy decor to your or yard. You can use the things you have around the house to come up with something creep-tastic! I am already planning ahead to next year and how I will make this cuter with clearance Halloween goodies!

Supplies used:

A few pallet boards

A hand saw and or a circular saw

E6000 glue

Halloween ribbon

Halloween trinkets

Black paint

Directions:

Saw down your pallet boards so that you can form a tree shape. I used a 1", 3",  6",  8",  10" boards and a 18" board for the back.

Paint your boards black, allow to dry.

Glue your short boards to the longest board, black side out.

Place something heavy or use a vice to secure the boards to the wood and allow to cure and dry.

Now, you can start decorating!

I glued Halloween ribbon to the tree and then placed the "ornaments". I used bugs, spiders and creepy eyes as decorations.

Allow to dry again and place it in the yard or in the house.

Ribbon Tree Ornament Craft

I am so excited to decorate my trees this year! I have already been playing around with some cute handmade ornament ideas!

Today I have a really economical and adorable DIY ornament that I know you are going to want to make! It costs just about $2 to make a dozen of these! They come together so easily that making a dozen is no problem at all!

This post contains affiliate links or sponsored content.

These are cute for decorating a tree, or adding a little something to a wrapped gift!

To make these ribbon tree ornaments I used:

  • A spool of ribbon I bought at Walmart for 97 cents
  • Chunky Craft Sticks
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
Directions:
  • Begin by laying 4 craft sticks together, draw the outline of a tree on them.
  • Cut the sticks to shape the tree.
  • Cut the tiny top triangle from the scraps to avoid wasting a whole craft stick!
  • Cut small bits of ribbon to cover the tree shapes. Glue them on and trim.

  •  Now glue the ribbon covered craft sticks onto one more craft stick.

  • After gluing all the sections on to the base craft stick, flip it over and add a small loop of ribbon so that you can hang it!

This is a fun project to do with the older kids, and these are really pretty lovely in their simplicity! I have a short video of the process to share with you. I would love it if you gave it a thumbs up!

I can't wait to hear what you have planned for holiday crafting!

Supplies:

Large Bells
Smaller Bells
Ribbon or bakers twine
Scissors
Hot glue gun

Cut the ribbon to the desired length. (12-15" is ideal)
Thread your ribbon or twine thru the top of the large bell.

Use the hot glue gun to attach the small bells to the large bell.
Place one bell on either side of the ribbon.

Allow the hot glue to dry for a few moments.

Tie off the ribbon to complete the necklace. Make sure your knot is secure.

Your necklace is ready to wear or share! Jingle all the way with a touch of Disney magic!

Playdoh Meatball Math

Are you looking for a way to make early math engaging for kids? This play doh activity makes for a fun way to master early counting skills in a manner that kids are going to want an extra helping of.

We are a play doh family through and through. Over the years I have created so many hands on lessons for my kids as well as invitations to play that started with a simple can of squishy play doh.  From a prickly cactus craft that my tween was enchanted by, to  DIY food puzzles for toddlers. I have always felt that playdoh was one of the best toys to have on hand because it doubles as a learning tool.

This idea is so much fun! It starts with 2 cans of play doh and a cute little pan. Grab a few dominoes and your little learners are ready to jump into this awesome activity.

Supplies:
Play doh. I used yellow, a little red and a little orange.
A small pan
Dominoes

Directions:
Create a pan of noodles from the yellow playdoh by rolling out into thin strips between your hands and tear them off at various lengths.
Combine a ball of red and orange dough together to make the meatballs.
Now tear off small sections and roll them into balls.
Place the noodles into the pan.
Leave the meatballs over to the side.

Invite your preschooler to select a domino from the pile and count the dots.
This is how many meatballs this spaghetti needs. Count the meatballs as you add them to the noodles.

Repeat as desired until you have used all of the dominoes or mastered your counting lesson. I know your kids are going to love this take on early math!
