Gifts Boys are Gonna LOVE This Holiday Season.

My son loves astronomy. He goes to a local club about every month to view the night sky and he loves to go to the observatory with his dad when they get a chance! Boys love toys! This year I think Magic Tracks is the way to go for fun for younger boys. These tracks are unlike any other I have ever seen. They bend, flex and glow. I love how kids can customize the race track, even when the race is in motion. These are an affordable and fun way to foster creativity, retailing at about $20 a set.

Stone8
My kids love robots; it has been an ongoing fantasy to have one of their own for quite some time. I have looked at so many, but felt that they were more of a glorified remote control toy. When we hear about Stone8,I was instantly intrigued as this is a truly interactive friend, and a cute little friend he is! I love that he expresses emotions and works with or without a device. This is fun for any kid who likes cars or building! This kit allows kids to design and build their dream car, then race it! Named to of the year two times for great reason Modarri is a hands on adventure that kids will be revving up their engines for. My kids were entranced by the idea of building their dream cars and had so much fun doing so. I would highly recommend this gift for any boy. It is engaging and tons of fun. There seem to be a lot of road trips to visit loved ones around the holidays, so te Connect 4 Edition from the Hasbro Road Trip  Collection makes it on my list of gifts for boys. This is a fun way to keep the kids busy in the car without turning to tablets. This game is portable but packs a ton of fun and is easy on every budget. Get it at Walmart for about $8 for hours of friendly game play on the next long car ride.

T Rex From Wall Charmers
Sometimes it feels like the kids have too many toys! Adding a fun touch to a bedroom is a great idea this holiday season. We love the T Rex Faux Taxidermy from Wall Charmers. This is simply a fun addition to any bedroom of a dino loving little boy! Well, to be fair, my husband was amazed by this too! When I was a kid, TMNT was super popular. My brother and I loved it and had all of the action figures! Glam Pumpkin Make Over

From outrageous orange to golden glam in a flash! This is how to make those plastic pumpkins super stylish!

I was browsing at the local thrift shop a few weeks ago and I noticed they had a huge pile of Halloween stuff out. Everything was 10 cents. I sorted out about 10 plastic pumpkins and happily took them home. 

I grabbed some gold spray paint and gave them a generous coat. I let them dry throughout the day, and now I have some total glamorous pumpkins to display! It may be only August, but I am ready for a super stunning and stylish Halloween display this year!

You might want to wear gloves when you spray paint... I got a little too enthusiastic about the idea and I just went for it. My hands were a lovely shade of gold too. HA!

How am I going to use these glam pumpkins in my Halloween and fall decor?

Make sure you come back in a few weeks to peek at the final results.

I am thinking to have hubby drill a hole in the bottom of a few and use them to plant mums.

I am going to stack 3 together and create a fall totem pole of fun. I am looking for Rose Gold and bronze spray paint to add to the colorful display!

Biz Works Better, But Why?

Life with kids can get messy; both figuratively and literally! Between sports and grass stains and excessive dirt and art classes, there are always a few good stains awaiting me in my laundry.

Color Swirling Milk Experiment

Harper and I love to explore the kitchen when we need crafty inspiration. She is totally my partner in crime when it comes to creativity!

We were looking for a quick activity on a busy day, because even a busy day should have time for fun and exploration when you are 5! We found ourselves in the kitchen, again, to fuel our inspiration.

This is such a fun way to explore kitchen science and how dish soap works! You need only 4 things to make color swirling milk!

Supplies:

• Milk Use Vitamin D or 2% milk,
• Half and half or heavy cream provide even better results if you have it!
• Food Coloring
• Q Tips
• Dish Soap

Directions:

1. Pour milk into a glass dish
2. Add several drops of food coloring to the milk.
3. Dip a q tip in dish soap 
4. Dip the q tip into the milk
5. And watch the colors swirl!

Why this works:

Milk has fat in it. The higher the milk fat content, the better this reacts. You can see the power of a concentrated dish soap before your eyes as the dish soap works to break down the fat content of the milk, thus disrupting the splashes of color, causing them to swirl.

What Harp thought:
Harp is a milk drinker, so she was ready to combine early science with her snack. She is intrigued by food coloring, so this was completely up her alley.

As you can see in the photos, she was ready to get hands on with this right away! She was completely intrigued by how the dish soap reacted to the milk. We tried this several times with different colors. We also tried this with skim milk and coffee creamer to see how the dish soap reacted to other milk products


 This is a fun way to engage the little ones with kitchen science, and I would highly recommend trying it with your kids sometime soon as it is so simple!

Having a baby doesn’t have to be expensive – whilst there are certain costs that are necessary, it’s possible to still give your baby everything it needs on a modest budget. Here are a few tricks for saving money on a newborn baby.

Know the things you need – and the things you don’t need

There are a lot of baby products that are essential, and a lot of baby products that are a waste of time and money. For example, you don’t really need a changing mat and you certainly don’t need a changing station. You can bath your infant without a baby bath, and you can keep bottles clean without a steriliser. And whilst most parents will endeavour with baby shoes since they look cute, your baby isn’t really going to need them until they start walking. Save your money for the things that matter such as diapers, bottles, wipes, clothes, a cot and car seat. It’s worth noting that there are some bits of baby kit that are useful, but never get bought. Shop second-hand

Of course, there are pieces of extra kit that you may want to buy when breastfeeding such as breast pumps and nursing pillows, but even with these purchases you’re still likely to save money compared to feeding your baby on formula. You’re best off attending breastfeeding classes before your due date to give you a good idea of whether breastfeeding is for you.

Make your own baby food

When your infant eventually moves onto solid food, you could save money by making your own baby food. If you’ve got a blender, it’s possible to make your own purees using vegetables such as carrots, peas and butternut squash. You can also easily mash up bananas and serve these as a sweet treat. You’ll find many recipes online for DIY baby foods using basic ingredients at your local shop. These foods are likely to be just as healthy and a lot cheaper to make than buying baby food brands.
